Consultant midwife laces up her trainers for Willow Tree Hub Appeal

Monday 2 June 2025

A familiar face from Warrington Hospital’s Maternity Team is stepping up to the start line in support of a heartfelt cause this September.

Sarah Nuttie, Consultant Midwife, will take on the half marathon at the Warrington Running Festival later this year to raise vital funds for the Willow Tree Hub Appeal.

The appeal, launched by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity (WHH Charity), aims to raise £200,000 to create a dedicated space at Warrington Hospital for families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby.

Sarah, who is more used to tackling rugby pitches than running tracks, will be joining hundreds of other participants at the festival on Sunday 21 September, taking on the challenge in honour of the families she supports every day.

Sarah said: “This September I’ll be taking part in the Warrington Running Festival to raise funds for the Willow Tree Hub Appeal – an incredibly important initiative that will create a dedicated, safe space at Warrington Hospital to support families who have experienced baby loss.

“As someone who plays rugby, I’m no stranger to pushing myself physically, but this run has a deeply personal meaning. Bereavement support is vital and this space will make a real difference. Join us and raise funds for a cause that truly matters.”

Warrington Running Festival offers a 5km, 10km and half marathon route and WHH Charity is inviting staff and volunteers to join the team and raise £200 for the appeal. All participants will receive a free charity T-shirt and discounted entry of just £15.60.
